Wednesday May 14th, May 28th, June 11th, June 25th
We are holding 4 X-Country Schooling Series shows starting in in May. The cost will be $35.00 +GST per show or $165.00 +GST for all four shows in the series. Ribbons will be given to 6th place and riders with their mounts will be able to qualify for the year end award given at our last series
This Schooling Series will have 3 divisions; introductory, entry and pre-training. The pre-training and the entry divisions will be for the more serious x-country riders, while the introductory will be for the not so serious x-country riders, or green x-country riders or riders that have a green mount or want to get their mounts out of a confined area.
Our current obstacles can be viewed on the website. There will be new interesting obstacles added this spring and over the summer within a large fully fenced perimeter. Each obstacle will be will be flagged for direction on the designated course. Each obstacle will also be marked (not adjacent to the obstacle) with two other flags. These other flags will allow competitors in the introductory division to either attempt the obstacles they can handle or go through the two flags on the ground on the designated course at any gait. Ponying will be allowed in the introductory division. Time will not be an element in the introductory class unless there is a tie. Judging will be based on the competitor's amount of successful obstacles done on the course.
Competitors in the entry and pre-training divisions will attempt each obstacle on the designated course safely while being timed. There will be an optimum time. Each jump can be attempted 3 times only.
Simply put, this is excellent practice for riders and their horses. It also allows a fun Wednesday evening of practice at a very reasonable cost.
Every competitor must have an OEF #. Every competitor must wear a safety approve helmet and proper foot wear. Vests are mandatory. All riders must sign a waiver to receive their competition #. Please arrive half hour early to properly warm up your horses. The introductory group will start at 5:00, then commencing with the entry and thereafter with the pre-training.
You may download the registration form from our site.
In addition to the above, anyone interested in x-country training at Langford Church Stables, please notify the stable.
